DAY 1 – D Day in Normandy Tour, Overnight in Bayeux
Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach - American Cemetery, Visitor Center & Chapel, Arromanches.

Today your private D-Day in Normandy tour will begin with a visit to Pointe du Hoc, one of the strategic German fortifications along the Normandy coast, where you will see a command post (now open). The task of taking it fell to Second Batallion of Rangers commanded by General J.E. Rudder. On June 6, 1944, they managed to scale the summit in just a few minutes, despite the slippery surface, ropes made heavy by seawater and enemy fire. The ferocious fighting, which followed on the lunar landscape potted with deep craters was more deadly than the ascent itself.

Your private tour of Normandy will continue to Omaha Beach, where so many young Americans lost their lives, followed by a lunch break by or near Omaha Beach.  After lunch you will proceed to the American cemetery and the Visitor Center in Colleville-sur-Mer, a short drive away.  You will have an extended visit here to see the graves and the visitor center, which features stories, photos, films, interactive displays and artifacts from D-Day.

NOTE:  If you would like to visit Arromanches, you will skip the Visitor Center at Omaha Beach. In Arromanches, you will stop at the top, where you will see the artificial port on the sea and see a panoramic film about the Allied Forces’ first hours on D Day. There is a museum by the water in the village of Arromanches on the artificial harbor.

DAY 2 – Tour of Mont St. Michel and St. Malo, Overnight in Bayeux

Today you will enjoy a nice drive along the coast between Mont St. Michel and St. Malo with windmills and beautiful landscapes.

You will begin your day with a private tour of Mont St. Michel. You will have a guided walking tour and visit of the abbey with an expert guide. Your private tour of Mont St. Michel begins at the 8th century Abbey, a major cultural and pilgrimage center during the Middle Ages. You will visit the Romanesque Church, the monk’s cloisters and refectory, the Knights Room, the Guest Room, the Undercroft, the Refectory, and other sites. The guided tour also includes several chapels: St. Stephen, St. Martin, St. Mary Magdalene, Our Lady Underground, and the 11th century Crypt of the 30 Candles.

Your private tour will continue on to the beautiful seaside town of St. Malo, where your special tour guide will accompany you. Your guide will take you on a walking tour stretching from along the top of the city’s walls, enjoying an incredible view of the Emerald Coast, down the cobblestone streets to St. Vincent’s cathedral with its beautiful rose window.

You will return to your hotel in Bayeux in the evening.

DAY 3 – Tour of Giverny, Return to Paris via Train or Private Transportation

Today you will spend some time exploring Bayeux before you depart for Giverny late morning. Bayeux is home to one of the oldest tapestries in the world. Through its embroidered Latin inscription and pictures, the 230-foot-long medieval cloth tells the story of the events surrounding the 1066 Norman invasion of England, which started here.

You will have a tour of Giverny, where you will learn about the life and art of impressionist painter Claude Monet. You will have a guided tour of Monet's house and workshop, the formal Norman

Garden, and the romantic Water Garden featuring a pond and Japanese bridge.

After Giverny, you will be escorted back to Paris.
